View Full Version : SA3250 Problems?

My brother and I both got the hd 3250 box from Rogers. We both have wide screen tv's and setup the stb to pass through so that the regular analog channels can come through scaled properly by the television set. We are both encountering the same problem though. When we come back to the set over night the stb has reset itself back from passthruogh to fixed.

is this a problem with the stb.. or the service provider Rogers. Anyone else experiencing this?

thanks

Adam

This is a known issue. It happens to me about once a week too. I believe it relates to firmware updates that they "push" to the box. The actual firmware version doesn't change, but there are minor changes made by Rogers overnight.

See the second post in the following link for an "issue summary".

It gets even weirder. Sometimes when you go to the settings, it still says passthrough, but the box is behaving like it's "fixed". You have to change to fixed and back to passthrough and then everything's fine again. I hope they get this one resolved soon, since a lot of boxes are affected and this is very confusing for most people.

This was only happening every once in a while at first, but now it happens at least every night and sometimes during the day. I recently started automatically turning my 3270 off and on each night and this may be making the problem worse. I don;t have the 1394 software update yet, so I don't know if it is fixed (no pun intended) in that version or not. It's another quirk that we have to learn to live with until they get around to fixing it. I'm more concerned about them fixing the 8000HD before they release it here mid-July as that is the box I really want. :)
