I've seen all the complaints from folks about ESPN-HD not on TWC. Is there any word to how long it will take them to get all that straightened out? It will be great to have... particularly come football season.

Here's an email reply I received from Time Warner:
TWC is currently in the process of adding more channels the ESPN is especially on our list due to the demand.Once we receive a launch date,we will notify our customers.Thank you.

TWC refuses to add the channel unless it gets for free, I guess.
EVEN with SportsCenter HD they won't do it...EVEN with other cable companies having it besides Directv, DishNetworks and now, VOOM.
When Directv starts adding more HD channels after the local SDs are added or at least more along, TWC is not going to be a any kind of HD Channel "leader". Then I would think it will have to add it just to stay competitive.

That's not always true, here in Kansas City, a few areas have the choice between Time Warner and Everest Communications. It does make for a very competitive market. I had a Time Warner rep come to my door and lower my bill by $30 a month just before Everest was to move into the neighborhood, it was enough to keep me as a customer.
On that note, Time Warner does not have ESPN-HD, but Everest does. Time Warner has more local stations (Fox and PBS) and INHD though.

You would think TWC would catch up with everyone else. ESPN HD has been out there for a long time. KICK IT INTO GEAR TWC!!!

Every other SD network GIVES their HD feed for no extra charge. Why should ESPN HD get to charge TWC customers more for the HD feed?
I say, go TWC and hold out. We don't want to start a bad precedent. If they give in to ESPN HD tactics, pretty soon, every HD channel will want to charge extra for their HD channel when it is the same program as the SD channel.
I don't want to pay twice for ESPN. I already pay once for their channel in the SD package.

It is strange that TWC doesn't have ESPNHD and has DIscoveryHD and Comcast has ESPNHD and not DiscoveryHD -- Until Jun 16th wnen they started showing it.
It is very frustrating wanting new channels, especially because there are so few that meet my requirements (no commercials, unedited movies, lots of documentary/arts-style shows). In fact only two more to go: HDNET (I don't care about the movies) and Bravo.
I wish Comcast and TWC would be in some competition. It would lower prices and give impetus for both systems to add channels.
It is fun to complain though, although my wife doesn't laugh at our $165 cable/internet bill.
