Hi guys and gals.
As you can see,I am pretty new to this board, but it's really good to see how people help others.
My question is , I live about 45-50 miles from the tower (my zip is 18337),can you recommend a good HD antenna to me?
I mean in the last 2 weeks I am looking the internet, and to tell you the truth I have no idea, what is the best for me.
I can mount it to the roof 3 stores up.
Thanks in advice!
Sincerely Ryan

Welcome.
Yes, you are pretty new... 1 post already!
40-50 is a big distance. A lot depends on your area/terrain, x-mitter power, etc.
Check out:
www.antennaweb.org
Get an idea of that you're dealing with and perhaps we can provide some antenna suggestions.
BTW... the roof is the BEST option. do your homework and let us know.

I did the antennaweb.org,and it says I have 2 choises.
1 green and 1 yellow. The terrain isn't so bad we don't have big trees,or at least the building is higher then them.
I've called the antennadirect.com costumerservice and they said the best choise is to go with this : DB4 Bow-Tie Antenna
The strongest multidirectional available
Extreme gain and range
13.8 dB gain
Versatile HD antenna, succeeds in difficult areas where other antennas fail
Works well in areas where HD transmitters are in multiple directions
Great when 15 to 55 miles from transmitters
All weather Balun included
Designed to resist extreme wind loading
Works great in attics. Fits easily & high gain can help overcome loss from roofing materials
Dimensions: 29"h x 20"w x 4.5"deep
Weight: 4lbs
So if you have any suggestion, thx.

That is (from some reading) a fine antenna. Definite consideration.
Others you may want to check:
Channel Master (bow-tie):
4221 (comparable to the DB4)
4228 (double the size... a little more gain)
Channel Master (yagi)
4248 - more directional, may be better fighting multipath
Radio Shack (yagi)
15-2160 - works for me... good to test with. If it works, great! $22 and you're done. If not, easily returnable and refer to the antennas above.
Have fun!
