After waiting more than a year for Toshiba to release the DST-3100, there was an announcement in January 2004 that this model would not be released, and that going forward, only Samsung and Hughes would be licensed to make STB for DirecTV. But now I see the Toshiba DST-3100 is available at most retailers. What happened in the past few months to change what was previously announced in early 2004? Since it is available, is there any comments on the performance of the DST-3100?
