I just moved to a city about 30 miles from where I was living. DTV had an installer come and mount a new trible LNB dish. He could not get SAT B at any strength and said that I had a tree in the way. SAT A and C come in the 90's. I had the tree cut down, and guess what, still no SAT B. I would think that the signal would be weak, but it is like it is not there. I have a zenith stb, I unplugged it and tried to find the signals again but no luck. The SAT B is lower to the right as I understand it and there is nothing in the way. Any suggestions??

Thanks

Chances are most likely that the trouble is in your dish LNB that receives satellite B. Any chance of having your installer get you a replacement LNB assembly???

If it is a bad lnb, could I swap the connection with one of the other SATs? If that would work, I should get B back and lose the one I swaped with.

Not sure.... but I believe you can swap LNB A and B only, not C.

You don't say whether the dish was re-aligned after the tree came down.

Considering positions in the sky, SAT-C is actually between A and B. It's likely that if the installer had *no* signal on B, then he did his best for A/C.

Try to re-align the dish.

Sat B is a very picky one. I had to cut 5 trees down to finally find the right one. The sat appears very low on the horizon (in the northeast) and should be on the far right facing away from the dish. Try realigning or you might have to cut down another tree. The Sat B one that blocked my signal is to the way right of the dish facing away from the dish. It does not look like its blocking but the far right is the culprit. Hope it helps.

I moved the dish to a higher spot on the roof. And all three sats came in in the 90s. I appreciate the feed back.

Thanks
