Right now I am running a separate RG6 for my OTA antenna, in addition to my sat cables.
I was told by some guy in Home Depot that I should hook-up a diplexer box so I can run the ota signal through the sat cable. I am using a powered Radio Shack ota antenna, 12v is going through the RG6 at the "ant. in" jack on the back of the STB, is that voltage going to be a problem going to the sat dish?
I'm new to the forum, so go easy on me!

It is normally recommended to have direct runs from the satellite and OTA antenna fro the best results. If that's what you have now... leave it alone.
Adding diplexers can only create more hardware complexity and perhaps degrade your signal(s). Especially with DC power requirements to the powered antenna and the power required for LNB swicthing.
If it works... don't fix it.
If this were a new install and to ease installation, I'd say go for it.
A diplexer merely allows you to combine the satellite and OTA signals into one downlead (coax run) from the roof to your TV.

How about using a diplexer to combine two OTA antenna signals into one cable run that hooks into the STB receiver. Everything everyone has talked about is the combination of OTA signals and Satellite signals. Has anyone tried combining OTA antennas signals, say a two UHF antennas pointed in seperate directions.
Thanks.

You can do this but it is tricky.
