I am trying to decide on which one.
I currently have a 50" Mits, but still hard to decide.
Thanks

Which one has the best price, performance, features, aesthetics that suit your tastes/requirements?
You're bound to get an answer leaning either way and also get some recommendations for Hitachi, Toshiba, etc...
Ultimately... it's your call (and $$).

Basically both sets are the same price. My 1994 50" Mits ($3,500 back then) has a great picture; however, after about an hour the picture goes black, the sound stays on and I have to shut down and cool off for a while to get the picture back. I was told that it was not worth fixing because the new set prices have gone down so much and the parts for a Mits is so high. Some of my friends say go with Sony.
Also my old set does not have a screen cover on it so I love not having any reflections.

Considering you got your money's worth from the Mits and apparently a good track record and satisfaction, why not stay wih it?
Also.. IMO, you pay extra for the "Sony" nametag.
Both are nice TV's, but 3 years on your current Mit's seems pretty crappy in my book. Tv's should last longer then that. I will say that even though I am pro-SONY all brands have lemons and don't let that shy you away from another Mit's. I say follow your heart "Young Padawan!"

Re-check your math... 1994.
