Well whatever it was broadcast in on our NBC digital channel vs. the analog channel . . . . . it looked darn good for a race as it was so very crisp and clear. The only part where the pixel whatever was noticable was during that awful fight!

I missed that in the title or I would have mentioned it sooner. I was going to post about the clash between the flashy orange #20 and the drab red #9 and the fight in the pits between all those guys in their cute jump suits, but I decided against it, or did I? What is Cup racing coming too? Cute M & M cars and other such noncense. :rofl2: :boxer:

I'm not sure she actually said she was overweight, just wanted to look her best on-board the Disney ship and I'm sure she will too. ;)

See what you've started Deana? I hope you know we're just couple of good old boy race fans teasing you.

BTW. How come Tony always seems to win the ones where he get the most flack from fans and the other teams?

Hate Stewart.
Should suspend him for half a dozen races and send him back to anger management classes.. Then first race back put him in the wall...

Go Gordon(24)

Can't really hate anyone, they all make the sport what it is. Rusty is my man, but he is losing his touch and switching cars every other year isn't helping.

Actually, I wish Petty Enterprises would get it's act together and become a player again, I miss the Petty name and colors in Victory Lane. Of course, I miss real cars too. Can never forget the days when you could actually go to a dealer and pick one of these bad boys up for the weekly grocery runs. Does that date me or what??? :)

Recorded the race today - just because (Don't usually watch NASCAR, but since it was on an HD channel in upconverted WS...).

Anyway, it only took 3.8 GB/hour of recording time. Most programmes on HD channels (even the WS upconverts on PBS) take from 5-9 GB/hour with the better programmes being closer to the 9.

Somehow even though we've never really watched racing or kept up with it at all, my 7 yr. old son knows at least two dozen of the drivers names, first & last, AND what car number they drive~! Both my husband and I are like, where'd he learn that??? I like to tease him when they are watching a race, more so recently because of our VOOM, and I say silly stuff like what about that Jeremy Fisher guy (Beatrix Potter frog character incase you guys don't know~!!! ) and he gives me this look and says "It's Jeremy MAYFIELD" emphasizing it loudly and the look that says "MOM~!!!!" and then I ask him what about that Burt Ward guy (played Robin in the Batman tv series) and he then informs me it is Ward BURTON~!!!

I think next time we visit the relatives in D/FW I'll have to take him to that race track for a fun Mother & Son day at the races~!!! Of course that'll be right after I take him to his first pro football game to see those Cowboys~!!! :rofl2:

Oh and is that American Chopper show in HD yet? :smokin: My husband watches that and I think if they wouldn't call the sons Pauly and Mikey I could almost stand to be in the same room~!!! :rofl2:

ROTFLMAO. That is so cute and it sounds like you and your son have a great relationship. :)

Yes, select episodes of American Chopper can be seen in HD on Discovery HD. They are always reruns from the regular Discovery channel, but so far they have always been worth watching again. I particularly liked the I, Robot series (Paul Sr was really in a mood in part 1) that is being run in HD in a couple of weeks (Aug 18 I believe it starts). Anyway, last week was Part 1 of Mikey/Vinnie Bike and Part 2 just finished here in Phoenix.
