I used some inheritance $$$ so money really was not an issue as much as the picture quality. Too many bugs still in plasmas and DLP and HLP and LCD for the money I think so I went with the best picture of the tried and true (and lesser cost!) CRT RPTV and that was my Toshiba 51H83.

Since removing the protective 'glare' screen, I am certain that I could not have made a better choice. The picture in HD/DVD is so clear, it almost seems as if you can reach in and touch what is being shown   ! I have not seen any plasma look any better then my CRT RPTV! Yep, Toshiba... :smokin:

How much? Cost? 0. Nadda. Zip.

Time? Probably the better part of an hour. But I was going slowly as this was my first time and I made extremely sure that I did not introduce any pet hair or dust, which took a few extra minutes.

How much as in how involved it is? Really was not too much more to it than the removal of some screws and the protective lens itself. Just the screen frame needed to come off, no other disassembly of the set was needed.

If you have kids or kid visitors you may want to leave the anti-glare screen on

This is true, however I have kids AND pets and after seeing the HUGE difference in PQ, it is a risk I am willing to take. I HIGHLY reccomend anyone thinking about this project to consider all the possible hazards that could come into play before actually doing the screen removal project. For me, the benefits outweigh the risks 3 to 1. :smokin:
