 Where do I start? There are so many negatives it's overwhelming! Original order included an extra receiver and the day before installation, I was called that VOOM didn't send the units to the installer so I'd have to call and set up another install date. Calling was a nightmare. Called during their campaign and was dumped after 7 minutes time after time up about 200 plus times (over a three day period). Finally, I reached a fellow who said he would set things up ands call back. You guessed it, he never called. I started taking names. Spoke to Nicole who said they would call back on a Monday. No calls. called and spoke to Jeff at 9PM Monday. He said he would write an e-mail to install explaining the situation and have them call right away on Tuesday. That didn't occur, so I called and spoke to Pam who contacted install and said Leo would call. Mind you, I started all this in May, and now it's June 16th. Believe it or not, Leo called and set up the installation. It went well until I was told there was no 2nd receiver included in the installation notes so I'd have to call for a new installation date. Now, they tell me they have no original record requesting a second receiver. I don't doubt it, considering how disorganized this organization is. It keeps going on with incompetance. They are the worst business I've ever dealt with! Of course, they don't honor my word that I had a 2nd receiver originally requested. Yes, I can afford to pay for one, but should I?? I think not. I encourage you to look elsewhere for HD. Beware, they aren't unfriendly, but they are incompetant and disorganized!

Sadly, you're one of many bad Customer Service and install stories coming out of VOOM.

I'm not surprised..

Cablevisions Customer Service sux... And all dealing I have had with them mimic your VOOM experience...

Since VOOM is part of Cablevision.. The CSR's you spoke with were probably promoted from Cablevision division to Voom division.

Just think, you probably had the cream of the crop.. the best of the best!

Just to be fair, I must reply that I am also new to Voom but have had a different experience. The sublet company was excellent in setting up the local antenna and hardware although he wasn't familiar with Voom and therefore somewhat hindered his responses to my questions. I have just left directv full programming pkg. and was anxious to try this new service with more hdtv channels. I love Voom and always have found something to watch and usually in high def. I changed the channels all the time with dtv and usually wound up watching a replay of something and not in hd. Voom even has a tank channel which is a high def taping of fish tanks at an aquarium and moves from one tank to the next after ten or so minutes. (COOL) Well, I have had to call support once or twice because of freezing. Unplugging for awhile usually fixed that. The support I got was quick and noone ever had to call me back so they never forgot to. I really like the hdtv programs offered and am glad I switched. Also, local channels have program guide unlike dtv.
Now the bad, limited sports so far, but I get ESPNHD and ESPN2- no HGTV or BBC America for the wife. I'm still with Cox for basic and internet. :lurk:
Louisiana proud!

Jim,
Yeah, sadly I've been hearing about these issues. It's too bad, we love Voom's wacky programming choices and weird channels. :smokin:

Our installation went without a hitch.

Have you been to the Voom forum?

Hope you get it all straightened out.
