HDTV OTA in Dallas

I have DirecTV, but use an old rooftop antenna for HDTV. I can almost always get CBS (ch 11) in HDTV, but the other cannels are spotty. First, before I invest in a new antenna, do any other Dallas residents have this same issue?

Second, if I do invest in a new antenna, what tips can a Dallasite offer me?

I'm not from TX but according to your zipcode you should have 13 digital stations easily.

For the most accurate info use your full address at www.antennaweb.org.

Something like a medium range DB4 antenna from www.antennasdirect.com should do nicely. It might even pull in that ABC digital on channel 9.

I'm in Hurst, Tx and got an inexpensive ($80) HD 7210 Weingard Antenna from Tweeter when I got my HDTV set in 2002. I get all the channels, but in the beginning, I had trouble with ABC going in and out. I got a Radio Shack (signal) amplifier, which seem to take care of that problem. All the channels come in fine now.

I don't know exactly where you are in Dallas area, but the site Lee referenced will give you a lot of feedback from Folks in other Dallas locations (and which stations they have trouble with).
