According to the on-screen instructions I can set up my VCR to record from my HD-300 in SD of course. I have the S-Video out from the HD-300 to S-Video in on my Mitsubishi VCR. Likewise on the Left and Right Audio. Now from the setup menu it asks what brand and I select Mitsubishi and then it starts testing codes, about 8 different ones, I don't get any response during the tests. Do I need to have a control cord or something plugged into the 2 units also. Anyone with knowledge of this unit please help.
Thanks in advance
Bill

You need to attach the VCR controller cable to your HD-300 and have the controller in close proximity to your vcr's IR sensor. Then when it goes thru the codes it can find the correct one.

I appreciate that very much although I don't have a controller cable. What do I buy when I get one? Is it just a standard mini-plug jack?
Thanks again,
Bill

Hmmm, weird. Did you buy it new? It is supposed to come with it.
There is a plug in the back labeled "VCR Control" It plugs into that.
I cant find a picture of it online though. You might be able to order it online from Sony.

No. It's an older unit. Maybe one of the local electronic stores will have a control cable that I can run from the Sony unit to the Mistsubishi VCR unit.
Thanks
