What outdoor antenna do you recommend for HDTV & analog TV UHF/VHF reception? At antennaweb.org, its telling me that there are actually 4 transmitter locations in my area but the good news is that they are in the 10-15 mile range! I also don't have any tall structures around me (4 blocks radius BUT hills at least 4 miles away (foot of the hill) on one side and slightly farther on ALL sides) that can cause ghosting so for TV signals I can get away with a small multidirectional ant. for my DTV signals. However to get analog TV stations I need a large mult dir ant or small directional w/pre amp. Now I'm totally confused on which way to go.

I think I can get away with a wide figure eight beamwidth antenna w/switchable preamp since the majority of the tranmitters are at 238-341 deg. then 7-8 degrees and 179 deg.

If someone would like to analyze my situation and make a recommendation by going to antennaweb.org I would definitely appreciate it, my zip code is 89511, no tall structures, and 2 story house.

I would like to use a yagi but since I have a tile roof and 2 level house it would have to be eave mounted or something special and the weight of the yagi plus rotor might be too much specially during a storm. Or maybe not (anyone tried to eave mount an ant plus rotor)? Omni would be just plain easier to use but I know it has its drawbacks. I still think I can get away with a wide figure eight pattern, anyone seen one? Or maybe place two directional ants. back to back? Someone also suggested theWinegard ghost killer.

I'm also trying to make it unobtrusive as possible so my HOA can't complain even if the FCC says I can.

Thanks!
