Meedio has finally been released today. To all those that don't know, it's the best HTPC front end to be released yet. They also are parnters with Housebot which is a complete home automation software suite. I highly suggest anyone interested in HTPC's check it out at www.meedio.com Keep in mind the website is slammed today with all the loyal followers dowloading their copies, so the page can be a bit slow at times.

Seems like pretty nifty software. Just querious though, why would you rip your dvd's onto a harddrive? Are there any benifits to doing this, other than not having to use the actual dvd anymore.

I don't thing there is any advantage other than not having to change the dvd. Mostly it's for the people that rent the dvd and save it on the computer, or for downloading divx movies. I have about 200 movies on my hdd right now, and It's great using it with meedio and having the cover art for the dvd come up, as well as a synopsis and playing time. This is such a small part of what this program can do. I really suggest everyone give the 15 day trial a shot.
