My HD reciever has no voltage output on the SAT IN. It is out of warrenty, however, it cost me about $600. I am knowledgeable in electronics, does anyone know if this is something I could repair myself?? Is it just a circuit board or fuse. Just wanted to ask before I rip it open.

Thanks :(

Why would you want voltage output on an input???

Well, that's what the sat repair guy told me. I had three receivers, lightening storm hit, and all three he said are not putting out the 13.5 volts to the dish LNB. He said that the LNB needs the voltage to function.

Well that makes sense...If a lightning strike caused the damage, I'd wager other components in the sat box are damaged as well. Did the guy say how much to repair??? Unless you have the schematics I would not attempt to try to repair myself...

Thanks. For the advise. I opened the case anyway and the only component that not soldered in is the power board and all voltages leaving to the main board appear to be good. The STB functions it just can not find the dish. Well, I guess its off to the repair shop. Probably be cheaper to buy a new one. But I really liked this Zenith box.
