I have a terk tv-50 antenna and have come to the conclussion that i should have just burnt my wallet. So i am now in the market for a new antenna.

I have a gift certificate at Radio shack and was looking at both of these antenna's

80" Boom Length, 32 Element Antenna (http://www.radioshack.com/product.asp?catalog%5Fname=CTLG&category%5Fname=CTLG%5F003%5F001%5F002%5F000&product%5Fid=15%2D2152)
or
50" Boom Length, 18 Element Antenna (http://www.radioshack.com/product.asp?catalog%5Fname=CTLG&category%5Fname=CTLG%5F003%5F001%5F002%5F000&product%5Fid=15%2D2151)

According to antennaweb.com all the channels I want are yellow and green, although with my terk I can only get the yellow and some of them are choppy. All of the towers are within 22 miles and within a 7 degree radius 169-176. There are no hills or buildings in that range or out of that range for that matter.
So my question to you guys is:

1. Which antenna is better (what about if i put it in my attic)
2. Do I need to amp it? Can i use the power thing from my terk, or can i buy a standard signal amp from kmart (are the antenna amps different)

This is all for 1 tv with absolutely 0 plans to expand it!!

Thanks in advance
J

22 miles -smaller antenna- no amp. If the bigger will fit use that just to be on the safeside in case you have a slate or foilbacked shingles. If an amp is absolutely needed use a preamp. The one from RS works fine and is mounted at the mast.

Second question...

Do you need VHF? If not... all you may need is this:
