OTA HD in East Bay CA ??

Ok I've looked on antennaweb.org and it looks like based on my street address that I migth able to get 3 DTV (which are HDTV right?) stations. I have a mitsubishi WS-55859 with built in tuner and 3LNB oval dish using Directv.

I live in Dublin, CA 94568 and was hoping someone around this are might give me a recommendation on which antenna to buy to get OTA HD local broadcasts ?
I even tried calling a local shop about the HDTV antenna that bolts onto the oval dish, but the guy said it "probably" won't pick up anything.

Can anyone give me some help or point me in the right direction ? Olympics are coming !!

Here's what I got with just you zipcode.

* yellow - uhf KDTV-DT 14.1 UNI SAN FRANCISCO CA 155° 14.9 51
* yellow - uhf KICU-DT 36.1 IND SAN JOSE CA 155° 15.7 52
* yellow - uhf KTFK-DT 62 SAH STOCKTON CA TBD 343° 11.7 62

The good news is: those stations should be very easy to pick up. The bad news: other than the PBS station, not much worth watching :(

You need NBC for the Olympics.

A digital broadcast does not necessarily mean HD. Unless that station is broadcasting a HD signal.

Your results from www.antennaweb.org may be different when you use your full address.

Thank you so much for the information and the clarification of the DIgital signal. Sounds like it might not be worth it to get the antenna in my area. Probably better just to save up and buy the Directv HDTV box.

Oh well I can live without for a little while longer !!

The problem with your area are the hills just to the west of you. Since Dublin is right at the foot of those hills, don't think you will be able to pick up any of the San Francisco stations.
