I have TWC and for $10/month, they offer 2 channels of INHD and 2 channels of HDNet. Looking at the programming, they both seem in their early stages and don't have anything that jumps out at me and says "Yes!! Yes!! Buy me!!" There's stuff I'd enjoy, but I don't think enough to pay for it.
So I'm just wondering, what do all of you think of the two networks? I'll probably end up testing them for a month, but I wanted to get your opinions on them.

I'll watch 2- 3 hours worth of HDnet/Hdnetmovies a week on average. Since it is part of the HD package that getsm ESPNHD and DiscoverHD it is worth it Between the 4, I watch them 5 ours a week adds up to 50 cents a hour...Your milage may vary

I was wondering the exact same thing jokerb. I am looking at getting TWC and was going to get the digital tier package over the HD tier package which gives you those 4 channels. But what i am not sure of is if you will get the other HD channels from TWC without getting the HD Tier.

Every city is different. Here, we get all the HD channels for no extra charge except for INHD, INHD2, HDNet and HDmv. They cost $6.95 per month extra. I think it is worth it, they have some really good HD and it is 24/7, so when you are starved for some HD programming, you can always go there.

For the next 6 weeks, INHD has 3 MLB HD games per week (not considering blackouts). I have Comcast so we have INHD1&2, and ESPNHD but not HDNET/Mov. To me it is definitely worth it (although Comcast doesn't charge extra for HD, just the HD STB). They have many DiscoveryHD-like programs, Twilight Zone, IMAX movies, other movies, and will show (I believe, they did last year) NBA-TV HD games on INHD2. Their college football is I-AA but it is pretty. Anyway, we really like them.

clw2112, from what I've seen on these forums, TWC has a pretty similar scheme everywhere. But I wouldn't be suprised if it was different in some places. In Austin, the HD versions of NBC, CBS, ABC, PBS, Fox, Discovery, TNT and FoxSports (sometimes) all come with digital cable. HBO and Showtime HD are included if you get either of those. The HD tier is only the 4 channels of HDnet and INHD.

Thats what i gathered from looking at TWC's ads and website, but i wasnt sure. It didnt sound like a cable company to give you all of those HD channels for free. And then when i called them the lady told me they were included for free but it also didnt seem like she really knew what was going on.
INHD=repeat city..over and over and over...they claim 100 hours of new programming a month HOGWASH!!!

I find myself watching INHD and INHD2 alot actually. My fav is Discovery HD. We dont have HDnet here so I cant speak for that.

Since starting this thread, TWC added ESPNHD to the HD Tier, so I got it immediately. Can't say I'm too impressed with INHD and HDNet. They have some good stuff, but most of it is garbage. Good looking garbage, but still garbage. And as much as I like ESPN, I'll probably cancel the HD Tier after the NFL season is over.

Looks like we all have opinions about TWC's HD package offerings. Many of us seem to be happy to add it to our subscriber billings.
If you get "starved" for HD (and I know many of us do), the package offers instant relief as summerfun mentioned 24/7 with some HD channels.
May I add that if jokerb had a HD DVR, he could record some of the shows he misses that may not qualify as some of that "good looking garbage".
Typically, if something is on at 3AM on HDNET or HDNETMovies (or INHD 1 & 2) that I want to watch, I "DVR it" for later viewing, increasing my opportunity ) of watching something on this subscription to the HD package I may have overlooked or not watched due to the time it is on...just my thoughts, here. :D

I'm just saying in general, there's nothing on those channels that I want to watch. If you do, great. Even though there are some programs that I'd watch in HD that I wouldn't watch if they were only on SD, my limits go so far. The old expression about games applies here too: "Content is king."

Given that most 'premium' cable services are quite repetitive in their programming, is this any surprise? HBO will show the same movie, over and over, on each of their 11 channels - and folks don't complain about that.

I get InHD + InHD2 for free, at least for now, on TWC. I like it a lot so far. Have seen a number of concerts of people I really like that are not on DVD (yet). Also saw warren miller 50th ski movie too. All look great in HD!

Well I watch about as much of the HDNET and IND .... so on, as any of the other channels. That would be about 1-2 hours a week on each. But seeing I watch about 10 hours of TV a week I guess thats not bad.

How did you get them for free?
Did the CSR at TWC push the wrong button or offer you something like the package for free to appease you like they do when they miss their serivice calls and you get back a credit on your bill?
Just curious.

In Houston we get INHD 1&2, DiscHD, plus PBS, ABC. NBC, and Fox for free(not counting the 7$ box rental) and pay 3$ more for ESPNHD, HDNET, and HDNETMovies. If your subscribed to HBO or Showtime you get 2 HD channels of each for free also.

Awesome, shows you how inexpensive certain products and services like HD delivery can be from place to place.
TWC in Milwaukeeland charges $49.99 for DigiPic 1000 for the analogue/digital channels without premiums, including Disc HD and TNT-HD, but hits us for IN HD 1 & 2, HDNET/HDNET Movies and ESPN-HD for $6.95/month more. :D
Additionally, the rental HD box is $7.95 and the HD DVR service an additonal $6.95 a month for a total of $14.90/box/month...Whew!
Houston is great city and your TWC pricing is much better...I hope they add more HD channels, soon, too for all TWC HD subs.

I also pay the 6.95 for the DVR service. I pay 24.99 for my digital service but that is because i already pay 25 to my apartment for basic cable, or else it would be 49.99.

INHD & HDNet...are they worth it?
Yes they are very worth it imo. They have great scenic documetaries, and hard hitting sports in full resolution HD. And some of them movies are pretty good too, and they are in hd as will.

What annoys me about INHD is that large white logo that is displayed during all of their programs. It's about 3"x5" on a 50" screen. I think if one had a plasma tv it could cause burn-in. We have to pay $6.00 a month for the "HD PAK" which includes the two INHD and HD Net channels plus ESPN HD.

Thats what I was curious about. I have an RPTV and I hate all the logos for that fear alone. At least on DHD it appears for a brief period then gone

Brighthouse in Tampa Bay has the same package and pricing as Time Warner Cable less the 95 cents difference for the HD package.
Notice the "Only on Cable" logo part of the INHD channels is missing, indicating that if satellite wants it at the price INHD wants to sell it (see other threads), it will be available. As for burn in, the logo comes and goes and it is not as intense as say, TNT-HD's big circle, so I don't think that will be a problem.
INHD has too many reruns imho and their movie selection's pretty weak.

Oh well, hawk, at least it is HD and if you have a HD DVR, you can record the selection you like for viewin later if it is not on at time you are available or sleeping, that is what I do. It has some really great programming, enough for me to keep it.
Wish I had Houston TX TWC pricing, however (included with package and only $3 more for HDNET/HDNET Movies).

INHD out my way is great. Lots of baseball games (not just the Red Sox, for instance last night they had Cardinals/Padres), ultimate fighting (granted alot of these are old), IMAX features and occassional decent flick. Also, have a good HDTV tuneup braodcast. I recommend it.
