Hey guys,
Maybe you can help me out here. I have the abovementioned HDTV receiver, I bought it from CC. A friend of mine is interested in this unit and we cant find it at any Electronic Stores. I went to CC, BestBuy, Tweeter, BrandsMart and none of them are carrying them anymore. I have found them on ebay but i dont feel 100% safe in telling my friend to buy it from ebay. Does anybody know of another good reputable online store to get it from?
Thanks,

I’ve bought a lot of stuff from Vann’s electronics. Great customer service. Not sure if they still have that model available.

Don't forget the Hughes HTL-HD and the LG 3200A are physically the same model, only difference is the Hughes doesn't come with an RF remote... All of them have ceased to be produced, D* is going to D* branded receivers from now on...

I tried Vann's but they dont carry it either. I also heard a rumor that Sony has stopped making them and whatever is being sold is what is left over.
If Dave is going to their own receivers then who makes it for them?
I saw the Dave HD/DVR which is around $999. Who makes this unit for them? I also read in its specs that it needs to be connected to 2 satellite inputs. I already have my triple LNB dish and its working fine with my SAT HD300. DO they mean 2 inputs, one being Dave the other OTA?
What about its reliability and ease of use? I only just saw it today at the store havent really had any time to research it. If its anywhere near the quality of the Sony i might just sell my friend my Sony and get the DVR.
Sorry for so many questions guys.
Thanks
EDIT: Never mind with the question about the 2 inputs, figured out what it was.

Actually LG made the Sony your looking for along with their own model and the Hughes...
The Tivo is made by Hughes I think, it needs two seperate feeds from your dish because it has two D* tuners built in so you can record one program while watching another. It also has an OTA connector that's split internally to it's two OTA tuners.

I know this thread is a little old, but does anyone know what happened to the Sony line of HD recievers. I was planning to purchase the SAT-HD300, but I decided to wait for the price to drop. Now I can only find it on E-Bay. If I knew that Sony was coming out with a new model I would wait.
Thanks

Directv is switching to branded receivers, there will be no more Sony, LG, and Toshiba models, etc.. The newest receiver out is the RCA DTC210 which has gotten some good reviews, I wouldn't spend the extra money just to have the Sony name, LG made the last two models Sony put out for them anyway. I see HD300's are going for a lot on E-bay these days....
