2003 Mitsubishi Platinum WS-55511

Well, after 2 months of online window shopping, I'm ready to buy. My local stores carry all the brands I could ever want. I'm really looking that the 2003 Mitsubishi Platinum WS-55511. It’s a great set and comes with a built in HDTV decoder. It has IEEE but no DVI. I think this is a great set but I need any advice I can get. My wife has set my spending at $3199.99 (The price of the Mitsubishi Platinum TV) Do any of you think there is a better TV for the buck??? Remember, can't spend any more that $3199.99 I’ve looked all over the internet and see no other brands that have the same quality and features.

I guess what I'm looking for is just any input I can get. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

I have bought the 55869 which is 2002's version of the 55511. Does anyone know the differences? Is the 2003 model any better?

I just had the 55511 delivered and installed and it is fanatstic. I have researched for over a year and there is no better set for the money.

I have my WS-55511 and it looks great! Watched CSI las night with OTA DTV. All I can say is "nice". I can't wait to see HD sports on this bad boy. To any of you out there looking for a TV, all you need to do is look at the WS-55511 and you will be sold.

Help make me feel better...just plunked down $,3199.99 on the integrated receiver rather than the standard 55'monitor. Tell me it was worth the extra $700.00. Also, Having it delivered meant I had to pay taxes, was told have it delivered, if I 'jiggled' it too much I could cause damage. My first big tv...did I make a good choice or what?
