i'm looking at one of these on ebay and was wondering if anyone has one and what are your thoughts on it?
I used one for almost a year for my OTA receiver. Never used the DTV part of it. The card is in it, never registered with DTV.
The unit worked well but its older technology. What are they trying to get for the unit. I have one in my closet :) Been trying to give it to a friend for his OTA. I have the remote and manual.
Hmmm, looking in closet. Sony 850, 200 DVD carousel, Toshiba SD 4800 DVD player, Technics DVD A10, 2 old dish receivers (one working, one not), 2 Pioneer Prologic receivers, LD player, 2 VCRs, :)

its about to end, about $62. what do you mean its older technology. i want it for nfl sunday ticket and to get espnhd through directv. basically, just to see the nfl games in hd.
what do you mean its older technology
Its a first generation STB for DTV, we on the third generation now?
$62 is not bad if its got the manual and remote AND card.

The DST-3000 has a ATSC (OTA HD) receiver in it.
I never did DTV with it, I'm going to get the manual now. I'm not sure it does satellite HD.

Round Dish Highlight this selection if you connected a 18" round dish antenna. This setting allows the DST-3000 receiver to receive a signal from the main satellite, located at 101 degrees.
Note: A round dish antenna will not receive High Definition satellite signals from DirecTV.
Oval Dish 2 Highlight this selection if you connected a DIRECTV PLUS (tm) oval dish antenna with two LNBs. This setting allows the DST-3000 to receive signals from Satellite A at 101 degrees and Satellite B at 119 degrees, enabling reception of DIRECTV High Definition programming throughout the United States..............etc etc.....
Yes, I guess it does :)

All i have to say is good luck finding a good relieable Toshiba 3000 reciever.
I went through about 3 bad ones.
toshiba dst-3000 is old technology. allmost all of them have heat issues which makes almost impossible to watch your local OTA channels, which is cause of the heat issues which make the picture pixelized and unwatcheable
If u want to know how to fix the problem, all u need is put a really big fan blowing air ontop of the reciever :)
