I caught wind of this in a different thread (Sorry, but I can't find it again to give appropriate credit), and called DirecTV to make it happen. Here's the details:

- DirecTV will pay for a new dual LNB antenna, installation, and connection to receivers CURRENTLY REGISTERED with DirecTV. After that installation, you can order the 3rd LNB from DirecTV, and they will credit your account with the cost of the 3rd LNB.

The cost is:

- Shipping and Handling on the dish
-- CONDITION: you promise to continue/upgrade to the Total Choice Premier package for the next 12 months.

OR

- S/H on the dish PLUS $49.99
-- CONDITION: you promise to maintain your current package level (mine is Total Choice Plus + Local Channels) for the next 12 months.

Sounds like a good deal. The sales lady said it included running the coax, so for me it sounds like a great deal.
I'll wait until I receive my Sony HDTV receiver, register it, then order the antenna.
I'll update this when it gets accomplished next week

i'm getting my oval dish on wed. at first they told me i had to upgrade my package to total choice, after a little whining she finally gave me the dish for $13 and i didn't have to upgrade my sub. they are installing it on wed.
just dont take no for an answer, if you keep on them they will give in. and for a last resort you could always say your going to change to e*.

I wanted to follow up on this, now that the deed is done:

Everything was done as DirecTV originally stated, EXCEPT the deal with the 3rd LNB. The dish (dual-LNB) was delivered and installed as promised. Everything was done professionally but I'm concerned that part of the coax run was done along the ground next to the house foundation. I'm worried that when we use the weed whacker, we might catch the coax.

3rd-LNB: Seems that DirecTV will NOT honor the original deal (as I understood it) about sending the 3rd LNB and crediting my account without a new commitment for Total Choice Premier ($85.99/month) for 12 months. I even called back to a 2nd 'entertainment consultant' with no luck.

I will badger them again (as tgatesp recommends).

Thanks for the update. Yeah, raise that co-ax off the ground - weedwhacker, animals, moisture, etc. Don't know the construction of the outside of your house, so I can't comment on the type of clamps to use, but get that cable off the ground.
