I am sure this is obvious to everybody but me, but I thought I would post it anyway. Before baling out on your indoor antenna because of poor performance, check to make sure that the stations you cannot get are actually operating. Here in Windsor, Connecticut (06095) I have been getting the local CBS station very poorly, and the local PBS station not at all, even though I am less than 15 miles from both of them. I was very disappointed, and thought I might have a problem with my receiver. The local NBC comes in pretty good. I was about to go get an outdoor antenna when Brewer4 informed me that the CBS station has been putting out a weak signal and the PBS station is currently not even on the air. The anntennaweb outfit did not mention this on their otherwise informative site.
Further, the local CBS is expected to upgrade their signal very shortly, and PBS will probably come back on next month. I will probably get the outdoor antenna eventually, to maximize the signals and pull in additional stations, but I am going to wait a bit. I expect I will get a useable signal on both stations on the indoor antenna by the end of September.
