Now that football season is here, has anyone heard when Adelphia will be adding CBS & Fox to the HD package? Several calls have resulted in no new info for me.

With Adelphia you just never know. They have CBS and Fox in other markets of the country but something seems to be working slower down in our area. I called once and got a CSR would told me that I should have CBS as channel 703. I rushed home and ............ nothing, no 703.
Keep calling once and a while you will get a CSR who knows what is going on. It's a rarity but occationally you will get lucky.

I live in MD and Adelphia offers CBS. The HD channel exists for FOX but as of now no programming is coming through. Hope this means it is headed your way soon

It looks like we are lucky here in Fredericksburg, VA. Adelphia offers us the local ABC, CBS, NBC and FOX.

I decided to try and contact the local stations to see what they had to say. Today I got a response from WPEC (CBS):
No, Adelphia has yet to agree to terms to carry WPEC's high definition signal.

So, as usual, it is Adelphia to blame. :(
Yeah Adelphia (in our area is poop for HD) switch to E* or D* (if you really want to pay for a hd receiver) put up an antenna and there you go...

I added the $5 bonus HDTV channels today (10/25/04). I get HDNET, HDMOVIE, and IDNET1 & 2 channels. The woman I talked to said that CBS, FOX, USA, & TNT would be added by the end of the year. I don't want to get your hopes up but that 's what she said so cross your fingers and don't hold your breath. I'm in Stuart, FL by the way.

I also signed up for the $5 package. They were supposed to add espn, inhd 1&2. Then by the end of Sept. they were supposed to add cinemaxhd. They only did add espn, for which I am grateful. I already had HDNET and HDNET movies.
I haven't heard about the others you mentioned.
I am in Dover,OH

It depends very much on where you live. This is more of a South Florida thread.

What I was trying to say is just don't get your hopes up. Adelphia has told me of the channels I am supposed to have, but I am still waiting waiting on them. As I am waiting on my DVR, which Adelphia said I should be able to get amonth ago.

Tigr92,
have you noticed all the iN DEMAND channels they added as of late?
My cable guy thinks they are trying to get VOD in action,he also told me that they
have totally rebuilt the head end of our system. If you noticed during the last week
the system has been shuting down as they work on it
Have you ever gone to analog channel 116 ? It is a test channel they use
to help them trouble shoot the system (hmm,as I type this 116 is showing No Signal)
I wish they would turn on INHD1 & INHD2 like they promised
plus get us hooked up with CBS and FOX
woof,woof

Ch 116 is basically a carrier channel with signal but no audio/video being carried on it. Thats one of the channels we use to set up the system. In theory, yes it can be used to troubleshoot, but it only tells you if that frequency is running at the proper level.

your exactly right ole buddy. maybe troubleshooting was the wrong wording on
my behave. But you repeated it just as cable guy told me. He went on to say that
he/they have little tv sets in their trucks mounted so to aim towards them while
they are out of the vehicle.(eg: up a pole)
It's funny you say this, because the way he talked it was like a thing "they" did , just to
help their self out , not a universal thing...
(but then again,I might of only been listening with one ear...) :)

I read on the AVS Forum that Adelphia is in discussions with CBS in South Florida and will be adding it in the 1st or 2nd Quarter of 2005. :overclap: We'll maybe we will get it by March Madness.
I think they are also in negotiations with FOX but I doubt we will see anything for this years Super Bowl. :sobbing:

I just had FoxHD added yesterday in Stuart Florida. I now have NBC, ABC, FOX, Discovery, ESPN, and the four HDNET channels. We also have a new program guide with "On-demand Movies" and free stuff like shorts and music videos.

We got FOXHD yesterday as well. I am suprised that you have CBS in Stuart and we don't have it in Palm Beach County.
