I recently took the plunge and bought a new Mits WS-65411 with a Panasonic RP62 DVD Player. I hooked everything up last night, and I must say that I was a little unimpressed. I'm connecting the Panasonic to the Mits via the Y/R/B Component inputs on the Mits. I've also got Progressive Scan enabled on the Panasonic. The picture quality doesn't seem any better than my normal non-PS DVD player.

Why is the quality sub-par? Is it because the DVD player can only output 420p? Isn't progressive scan suppose to help a little? Perhaps I haven't tweaked the system or configured it properly?

Any help or advice on this would be greatly appreciated! :D

I have the 55859 and I noticed the same thing. The TV looked better just diong the componant hookup with a non ps-dvd player then with a ps player. I think because the line doubler that the TV uses is actually a real good doubler. I have been told the only time I would see a slight differance if I would get a real high dollar which hopefully would have a higher quality boubler in it psdvd player. And since I don't plan on spending abunch on a new player until the HDDVD players come out in ayear or so I'll just stick with the normal dvd player. Hope this helps. I am not as informative as Richard or some of the other guys.
