Do not worry about it. Read the FAQ's about burn and what to do with your new TV. Mostly in turning down contrast and varying your programming.

also if your tv has a good screen saver this will help. Mine has a picture orbit and a white screen mode. also with certain brands the tv is much more resistent to burn in. i play video games on my sony plasma all the time the temporary burn in just wears away.
1 Although temporary burn in will go away (that kind disappears in a day or so anyway), however, permanent burn in will not go away.
2. The "White screen saver" will also significantly shorten the life of your plasma.

what i was trying to say was that i've had an image on screen for about an hour and a half before and it always came out meaning that sports tickers should be no problem. also temporary burn in disappears in about ten minutes at that most on my tv and its only about 85 hours old they recommened a 200 hour break in period i have a Sony kde-XBR950 plasma though the XBR950 series are probably the most phospher burn resistent TV on the market

Eventually it will stop coming out...

all the things that I have read say that the older the tv gets the less it retain the images. so the older it gets the less of a worry burn in is. my tv dosen't retain images nearly as much as it first did the newer models of plasma's are very resistent to permament burn in. the best brands are sony, panasonic, poineer and NEC

It could be that after the phosphers are aged, the less obvious the 'burn'. Also... a loss of brightness/quality.
