Just visited a friend who has new Panasonic HD Plasma TV.
He subscribes to WOW and has no clue how to set up his tv.
He has his converter box set on "stretched mode" while he was watching HD contents.
We must do much more to educate public about HD tv. Before more people realize what a difference HD tv makes there will not be true conversions taking place.
I was one of the first ones to get DVD player in 1995(Stand corrected see below comment) when there were only handful of DVDs to pick from. It took a while but look where DVD stands now.
One can only hope that HDTV and HD-DVD movement does not take as long to take shape.

Stand corrected. I am fuzzy on the year that I bought my first Sony dvd player. Again my point is that I hope HDTV does not take that long to be accepted by general public. I am so frustrated by lack of content on HD format and considering getting VOOM in addition to my Insight HD service in Ohio just to get more HD programs.
I mistakenly posted it on CBS programming because when I visited my friend he happend to be watching everybody loves raymond.

First... let's get the 'digital' transition completed. After that the HDTV is gravy.

Digital came first... HD is only riding the coattails.

BTW... Voom may have a lot of HD 'programming', but that content leaves a lot to be desired. Caveat Emptor.

Indeed 1997 was the birth of the dvd format.I remember when they were running Jurassic park at the showrooms.

As of this day i am still awed by this movie, it really was a revolutionary step in CG technology, in fact if it was'nt for Terminator 2:Judgement Day we would'nt see what we do now in todays movies. That movie was the father of CGI.

Speaking of mis-information Spielberg and Universal were heavy DIVX supporters I don't recall Jurassic Park on dvd until late 2000 IIRC.
