Hi, I have the BenQ PB6100 and Time Warner HDTV. Originally the system worked well, then this past week when trying to project a digital signal... HDTV, Progressive DVD, Progressive XBOX, the projector started projecting a red hue over the image and all the colors werent there. When I project an analog TV signal the projecor works fine. ANy suggestions?
You are using separate cables for the two signals? Component and s-video?
Check the component video connections very carefully if you are using those. Sounds like a connection or cable problem to me.
Substitue another component video cable.
Let us know what equipment you have and how you have it connected. Not knowing I have had to make several assumptions.

I have a Scientific Atlantic HD Cable Box, a Toshiba Progressive Scan DVD Player, and XBox w/ HD Pack. The projector only has VGA -> Component inputs. When I hooked my PC up to the VGA, I got the same problem.
Going straight to the projector from all the components? No a/v receiver in the middle for switching?
I'm looking up adapters for component to VGA.
Did you mean the projector only has VGA and component inputs?
I'll look the projector up on the net.

no, the projector only has VGA input... to do component you need a Component to VGA cable... the proj does support all HD formats, as it was working perfectly initially... and i switch the cables... no component switching on my receiver :(
Ok, www.projectorcentral.com has it wrong, they said it had component input.
What cables do you have going to the projector? Just the component > vga cable???

edit: I did go to the BenQ site and read the specs there. Accepts component video via the VGA connector.
If you are feeding the projector the analog TV via s-video or composite and that is good, and when feeding the PJ from the component > vga cable, I'd suspect the cable.
While viewing the problem, gently flex the cable at the vga and CV ends, see if you see changes in the color. Also check for bent pins etc.

I'd suggest a component switch once you figure it out, constantly disconnecting and connecting the cable doen't do it much good...

On one of my older sets... when I initally plugged in my component video cables from my DVD player into my TV's component input, the picture had a red hue... such as you described. To correct it, I had to go into the DVD player's menu and manually adjust the Video Out to YUV (i.e. component). After doing that, the red hue was gone. Maybe you need to make a similar adjustment... either on your projector's Video Input menu or on your playback device's Video Out menu.
Would you recommend an HDMI cable for a High Def projector? No sound is needed at the projector and will be handled at the surround receiver. I have component run to the projector. Anyone recommend HDMI, or DVI?

Sure, as long as all your sources are digital and you have some way to switch them, HDMI or DVI (whichever your projector supports) would work fine.
