Is it possible to converge this TV? no user controls are apparent, would a technician be able to accomplish this? I have the 61" z575 model.

No and no. Are you sure you mean 'convergence'?

I have read of some people who are disappointed with the "convergence" of this fixed pixel display.

It, of course, doesn't have convergence in the same sense as a CRT-based RPTV, but it is perhaps possible that some "alignment" of the "chips" was not done properly at the factory.

I'm not sure if this is a serviceable item at all, but certainly not user-serviceable.

It would be nice to get some feedback from owners with this issue as to how it was resolved.

Convergence is in the service menus, and can only be done there. It is a 3 chip design, so it would need convergence controls. since jvc included this in the service portion, they must not think it would be an issue as often as CRTs.

Another reason to not have it in the user menu's is it is a source of revenue for their repair partners.

It is in the service menu..

Mine was pretty much dead on the money... but the red is slightly off and will not adjust out to be dead-on.

I would think that there IS some type of physical adjustment of the chips themselves.

On a related issue, has anyone accessed the focus adjustment? I would assume it could be accessed by removing the speaker grills, then the power/led panel.

One last thing... has anyone adjusted the OVERSCAN.., or fiqured how to adjust /set/hack the differant modes to enter their own settings for ZOOM, for example?
