CC is selling a samsung tuner that also has QAM for $250, will this work with comcast, will I lose ESPN and Discovery. Will I lose any other channels. Does anyone know anything about this tuner I think the model number is SIR 451, Does it have a slot for a cable card. Just thinking about buying it. I am now spending $20 a month for 2 cable boxes from Comcast. Is the chat room open this week. Any information is welcome

The QAM tuners will only decode unencrypted digital cable channels. I cannot 'replace' what your existing cable box decodes.
You will probably lose all digital channels except locals. You cannot 'add' ESPN or Discovery (unless they are unencrypted).
CableCard is a feature that is only available on selected TV's.
CableCard will not allow you to get PPV (interactively) or VOD.
The chat room is open 24x7... although, no one is usually there. But, you can always check who's online on the forum and invite them in for chatting.
