I own a 50 inch Sony Plasma - KDE-50XBR950. Has anyone had success with connecting a Sony Plasma or LCD to a PC? Sony claims to not support this. I have mine connected using a Radeon 9600 with the ATI vga to component video adaptor. It works but only certain resolutions are worth viewing because the rest are either underscanned or overscanned too much. I have tried Powerstrip but does not fix the underscan that I must now endure. Anyone else out there tried setting your Sony Plasma or LCD to a PC?

I am considering to buy a KDE-50XBR950 plasma.
Any success in trying to connect yours to a PC?
Please let me know.
Thanks.

It works using an ATI Radeon 9800 with an ATI DVI to Component adapter. It is not perfect though. I wish I could set the resolution of the PC to the native resolution of the monitor - 1365 x 768. With the new catalyst drivers you can create a costom resolution from the 1280 x 720 and get very close to removing all overscan. But the frame moves around every so slightly throughout the day, one time it is perfectly centered and then next it is either left or right or up or down by a few lines. I spoke to ATI and they claim to be working on this. Put to answer your question - yes, it works. Just wish Sony would make a DVI port that used the native resolution without needed to use an adapter.
