i just bought a dvi to hdmi cable to connect from my Comcast Dvr box (motorola 6208 i think). when i switch video inputs after playing PS2(with monster componant cables) on tv back to video 7 (hdmi) the picture displays 2 seperate boxes one on left and one on right both exactly the same. you can see the tv program in each box. i have to change the channel in order for the picture to resume the normal size, filling the screen as it should. The dvi/hdmi cable is a low end cable and i will buy the $100 monster cable to troubleshoot, but i was wondering if anyone else has had this problem or knew why. It either the tv,the dvi/hdmi cable, or the cable box obviously. ill start with the easier fixes first hopefully not having to lug the tv back to the store. thanks, chris

Somehow your TV appears to be activating its PiP functionality...

Try pressing the PiP button instead of changing channels to "resume normal mode".

You may then wish to e-mail Sony regarding this "issue".

ya know my Sony will do what you describe on occasion.
It is when I am turning set off,on and such. I also have moto stb 6200 (DVI-DVI)
and I notice when this happens, and while stb is on, there is no display (channel) on stb lcd.
(just for the record, both pics are terrible PQ)

To resolve this , I just change channel (up or down) and all goes back to normal (as you said you do)
It must be a 'handshake' issue that (in my case) only happen every once in awhile
and I believe it originates from stb...

my set does have pip

:)
