My tv has clocked ~6600 hrs. How long do I have until this thing bites the dust?

I have a Goldstar 27" that's about 20 years old too, only time it's ever had problems is when it got hit by lightening like 10 years ago, needed about $200 in repairs...

Mine ususaly die after 7-8 years...of 24 hour abuse but then again I have never paid more than 250 dollars for a tube TV.

Crts lose brightness as they age, they may still "work" after 10-20 yrs but they
dont look as good as they did new. Ditto for CRT based projection TVs but even faster deterioration.

we have a 32 inch tv purchased in 1985, floor unit with wood casing, and still makes a perfect "library/fireplace" tv. Gets about 2-5 hours of use a day at that age and not a dollar as been put into it. Its GE at that. First TV i ever got was in 1988 when i was 6/7 years old and its still working perfectly as well as my moms "treadmill tv"

This past summer I had a JCPenney 20" TV which finally stopped adding brightness to the picture. My grandmother gave me the set which she bought brand new in 1987. So I conveniently made the HD leap.
