Hello,
This is my first post here. :)
I'm interested in the Samsung TX-P2665 26" Flat Widescreen HDTV. But would like some opinions about it.
It supports 480p/720p/1018i, 16:9 Picture, and Progressive Scan.
The inputs are 2xComponent, 1xDVI, S-Video Inputs, and regular Audio/Video inputs.
The television is $649 Canadian.
I'm having trouble with Samsung.ca website right now, but there is more info there. I've attached a photo of the TV in this post.
Much appreciated!
My question when someone looks at an HDTV this size is "Why" (other than price).
Many SDTVs of this size are quite good - have you compared them side-by side?
You may wish to save a few more $ and get something larger when you can afford it.
SD images will be quite small on this TV.

I live in an apartment and will be moving soon, so having a big television would make it very difficult.
If you've seen enough difference viewing an SDTV and this HDTV side-by-side, then it's your money, please proceed. Be aware that the SD images will need to be stretched, that any TV should be set up properly, etc.
Check out the FAQs like "What you need to do to your new HDTV", etc.
Please put your location in your profile, it'll help us help you - regarding STBs, service providers, etc. How will you be getting your HD signals?

I live in an apartment also and have moved my 51in. Hitachi without a problem. Most large HDTV's are on wheels and I think easy to move. I sit anywhere from 10 to 16 feet away from the TV and I think 51in. is getting small for me now. Even my girlfriend agrees I could have gone bigger, that tells me something. My 51in. Hitachi from UECweb was I believe $849.99 and then $199.00 for shipping. I origionally looked at tube HDTV's because of the price, but the great people here at HDTVoice introduced me to UECweb and it was all over from there.

I currently live in Toronto and will be moving to Australia.
I've seen normal televisions vs HDTV, and the HDTV looks amazing.
I believe "Terror" is Canadian (based on his C$ price in post 1). Getting a TV from UECWEB into Canada would be more costly, then there would be the warranty issue, etc.
But I do recommend looking into larger TVs. If you've got the $ look at an LCD or DLP-based RPTV at 40'+. They are very light and easy to move.

Ah, well your move requires slightly more than a U-haul rental I suppose. And I did not take into consideration the shipping into Canada.
I think I would wait to get the TV when you move. Find out the type of programming availability in Australia and what you need as far as equipment goes.
Is Australia NTSC standard???? I thought they were PAL??? You probably wouldn't want to take the TV if so...
Edit - just checked - Australia is PAL. You won't want this TV, or any TV from NA - it'd just be too much hassle.
You'll need to check into what Australia are doing with regard to HD, etc.
It is theoretically possible they've got a STB that you could then connect to an HDTV, but you'd better do your research.

Good call. I didn't even know Australia was PAL. I thought it was NTSC.
