I purchased the Denon 1910 on sunday. First impressions - using it w/ just progressive scan blows away my sony rptv's line doubler (as it should). I used component for that test. Next I connected the DVI cable. I was affraid I was going to get a darker image like when I used the DVI on my STB. Luckily this was not the case. The image looked just as good as component. Next I set it to output at 1080i. PQ is even better - even my brother (not a A/V nut) could tell the difference between 480p and 1080i. I still have yet to pop Avia in and calibrate my DVI input. So far this player has exceeded my expections! A great buy for the wait for HD DVD's. The ONLY downside I've experienced so far is it takes a little longer than my old sony player for layer changes and menu access.
