Sony Has released two models KDF-60XS955 KDF-60WF955. I know the KDF-60WF955 is a scaled down version. Can someone tell me the what are the major differences? Picture,inputs,sound etc.. I am trying to find out if the extra $700 CDN is worth it for the higher end model KDF-60XS955 ? :sherlok:

From what I have read........It has a brighter bulb, another HTMI connection, improved chip inside, virtual surround, live color upgrade, improved menu, and 2 midrange, 2 tweeters, and a woofer inside of a new thinner cabinet on the front of the TV. :D I will be getting my KDF-60XS955 delivered in two days :rockon: Can't wait!

The XS version has been out for 2 months in the USA. From what I have read........It has a brighter bulb, another HTMI connection, improved chip inside, virtual surround, live color upgrade, improved menu, and 2 midrange, 2 tweeters, and a woofer inside of a new thinner cabinet on the front of the TV. :D I will be getting my KDF-60XS955 delivered in two days :rockon: Can't wait!


Can you give more info on :
"improved chip inside"
"Live color upgrade"
"Improved menu"

Also has anyone seen a comparison between the two sets "Side By Side"

I would think if there is a noticeable difference in Video it would be worth the difference and if the improved menu meant "The average guy can tweak the tv more easily, the would also make it a better buy.

Go to sonystyle.com If you need more info.........I would just call Sony because these sets are just too new for any one to answer at this forum IMO. Only Sony knows.......I would pick up the phone and give them a call with your question and post back here so we can all learn also :D

Hi all concerned, I finally got to view the KDF60WF955 last night! I was not impressed. I viewed this new model beside the older WE model and i could not tell the difference.

I spoke to sony and they said the KDF60XS955 has a better picture. I still have not seen this model but I am hoping its worth the price $6400 CDN funds is very expensive. Especially when I see the same TV for $3500 american funds.
