Looking to purchase my first DVD player to use with my new HDTV. I have a Hitachi 51" RP HDTV. I am looking to spend around $100 - $125 on a decent DVD player however with all the choices out there...it's hard to tell what's the best bang for the buck. Any suggestions? I was thinking Hitachi so it's compatible with my TV. Sounds like Denon makes quality products as well but that might be a bit out of my price range.
Check out this Sony. I'm not usually a Sony fan but this is a nice unit, picked up one for my son for under $100 at a local store.
Check the specs/features, does everything you would want a DVD player to do. .

I've been doing some research. How about the Denon 900?

Is this still a decent model even though the Denon 910 is out?

My Kenwood DVD Changers all have Faroudja-based processing and I have had a chance to compare them with the Pioneer Pure Progressive and a JVC progressive scan models, using the same DVD, a superbit, "Fifth Element".
The result? The JVC had the worst picture, not terrible, just boring.
Pioneer came in second, closer to the Faroudja processed DVD, but not close enough. The Faroudja processing in the Kenwood changer was almost three-dimensional.
Go with the Faroudja processor...IMO. :)
If fact, the JVC I use for my 48" Mits will probably be replaced by the one you are looking at, unless I stay with the single-disc route.

Skip the 900 and go with the 910 or what I have - the 1910.

I noticed they dropped this one from $169.00 to $149.00
it's getting very tempting...
