Sony 55wf655 HDMI fails with DENON 2910

I am having what looks like a sync or HDCP problem between my Sony KDF-55WF655 and my Denon DVD-2910. Reguardless of what mode the 2910 is set to the 55WF655 will flash the display for about 1/5 of a sec and then go blank for about 4 seconds. The cycle will then repeat; flash then blank. It does not seem to matter which format (480p / 720p) is sent. The results are the same. Denon seemed to think a croma problem was the cause, but a firmware upgrade did not help. Sony is totally clueless and no help at all. Has anyone gotten this combination to work??? HELP

This wont help but...denon and sony have issues. I do know that alot of there dvd players especialy ones with faroudja have issues with there flat tubes, it happened to me.Had to take the denon back,sadly. That is somewhat of a well known fact i found out by searching the web.Its very possible that its the same with sonys other models as well.Thought id share what i know.

Just to let you know... I have a new Sony KDF-60xs955 and a new Denon DVD-1910 hook up with a DVI-to-HDMI cable. I've not had any issues with outputting 720p or 1080i and both look absolutely AMAZING!

In fact I've never seen a cleaner looking DVD image on any RPTV. I hope you get you HDCP issues worked out!

Since both of our TV’s and both of our Denon’s use the same circuitry for the HDMI/HDCP connection, it could be a faulty cable? It might just be a handshaking issue… My TV does the “Out of Sync” thing for about 2-3 seconds when ever I change the output resolution of the Denon.

I have the same TV as you and are also having the same issue with a Denon 3910. Apparently this is a know issue for Denon. I am waiting to see if there is a firmware fix coming. Will post if I have any news.

I purchased a Sony KDF-55WF655 and a Denon DVD-2910 this weekend. The HDMI input did not work. It flickers for a second and then nothing. I brought the player and cable into the store and they worked on the KDF-55WF655 in the store.

This leads me to believe that the input is bad. I could not get any info from Denon or Sony. Can someone point me in the right direction for info on the web?

Still waiting to here from Denon. I have contacted Denon at
e-mail: contactservice@denonnj.com If I don't here anything back today I will call them (973) 396-7499. I have the same TV and apparently this is an issue with the 2910 and 3910 units. Herd from Denon. They are sending me out a firmware update on Monday. Hopefully it will fix the problem.

Installed the firmware update, so far so good on about 4 movies.
