DVR files to PC to DVD ?

Where can I find information on taking files from my DVR and putting them on a PC for editing and burning to DVD?

I used a Hauppage WinTV PCI Card to convert S-video from my DVR to an MPEG file. Then I used Nero 6.0 to burn DVD....see videohelp.com for guides.

With some DVRs and certain content it is possible to use a firewire connection to record the show on the PC. Then you would need to reencode it for DVD and burn it.
