I have a Sony WE610 which has a memory stick slot. If I take pictures with my Sony camera and put the memory stick directly into the TV, it works fine. But if I put photos on the memory stick from my PC, they generally don't display. I put them in the same folder as the pictures from the camera, and they have the .jpg extension, and there is nothing fancy or strange about the jpegs, but Sony shows them as a 'broken image' symbol. Yet my PC has no problem displaying these same images from the same memory stick.

Anyone have any knowledge about what Sony is so picky about, and how to create images that the set will display? What I'm trying to do is create a memory stick with a collection of my favorite photos, so I can use the TV to show a slide show.

Can you burn them to a cd and display them thru your dvd playe, that's what I do. frees up camera memory.

I don't want to use DVDs because then I don't get close to the full resolution of the HD monitor.

I gave up on the Sony memory stick reader and bought a Roku to display the photos. An extra $300, which was painful, but I'm quite happy with it.

I also use the Roku to display my photos and am very happy with the quality. I recently connected my Roku via an ethernet bridge to my wireless network. Very cool.
