KDF-60XS955 problem

I took delivery of this new set just this week and I am already experiencing a problem.

Was watching Shrek 2 then turned off the TV to go have dinner. Came back and now the picture shows up but it is very very faint (grey?). I can barely make out that any pictue is showing at all. When the unit is turned on the front LED for Power/Standby will flash green for at least 30 seconds before I can make out anything on the screen. The TV won't even repond to the remote or the side buttons on the left of the TV. The only thing that will work from both the remote and the buttons on the TV is the power button. I can't bring up the TV's menu or change the source input. It is stuck on input 5 (component).

I have even opened up the front, removed the lamp, reinserted it but I still get a very greyed out picture. Tryed calling Sony tech support but it is not a 24x7 center.

Anybody experience this or know what to do in a case like this. I will be calling Sony tomorrow and request for a tech to come out.

This is not a very good impression after buying a new TV.

I own the very same set KDF-60XS955. I experience nothing from what you are describing :wow: I suggust calling out service like you mentioned. Taking apart the front of the TV is going farther than I would have gone. Once you get this problem fixed.............believe it or not........you will love this awesome set trust me!

Try unplugging the TV for a few hours. Sometimes it 'resets' the TV.

I haven't had any problems with the TV. I had problems setting up my dvd player the first time. Please post the resolution once it is fixed.
