i've noticed a few great deals on some stuff from this place. is it refurb? too good to be true?
anyone out there with experience with this place?
thanks!
steve
I've not bought there but they sure show up a lot when I do equipment searches.
A lot of people have good luck buying online but personally I don't like to do big ticket items. Sometimes it can really be a hassle getting problems straightened out or returns done. I did say sometimes. :)

I recently bought a remote control from newegg since I couldn't find the one I wanted locally. The remote arrived when they said it would, came comlete in original box with all documentation (was supposed to be new and looked to be so), and has worked perefectly.

I've bought many computer parts from them and they always ship it the same or next day, and they've always had everything in stock that they said they did. Prices have always been good as well.

They do have great prices, I buy ALL my pc parts from them. Highly recommended. Plus you get cheap, if not free shipping, and items usually arrive 2-3 days after ordering.
They do have a refurb/clearance section, but everything else on the site is new.

I purchased a Tungsten T3 from them. They had a lot of great reviews at bizrate (http://www.bizrate.com/ratings_guide/cust_reviews__mid--28697.html) I had no problems. Great price, fast shipping, good customer service.

I just bought an NEC dual-layer dvd burner from them for only $70 brand new. They have great deals on OEM computer parts.

I've bought multiple things from them over the past including all the parts to build the last two computers I've made and I've always had great service and quick shipping. Great place for OEM computer parts and low price cables. Check their prices on firewire, DVI and USB cables, lot less then what the local B&M stores want for them...

The MX-500 is great, Easy to program, easy to use. It'll learn anything off of your OEM remotes. I have my Sony TV and DVDplayer, JVC SVHS, SA8000HD and Yamaha RX-V596 all programed so that I don't need any of the original remotes. Macros to Turn on and off all components and to switch from watch TV to Watch DVD to Watch VCR.
and I've ony used 4 of the 10 Device buttons. You get 5 pages of favorites with 10 per page. So I've got and HD page, a sports page, a movies page, a network page, a music page.
I paid $115 a couple of years ago and I've seen them recently as low as $69.99 I'd pay $115 again if I had to, I'm thinking of getting one for a backup.
My back light went out a couple of months ago and they fixed it in a week for a $15 flat fee.
Hope you enjoy it.

I bought the MX-500 from newegg. I agree with logman, the MX-500 is great. I looked at some of the graphical remotes, but IMHO too many $$$. The MX-500 serves my needs perfectly.

I also have had experience with Newegg. I built my last computer with all the parts and software (about $2k) from them and it was always a very smooth transaction.
Prices were always the lowest/or real close to other sites and retailers. The trust they built up with me keeps me coming back. You should be pleased.

Newegg is great. Low prices fast shipping. They do have some refurb stuff but it will say "refurb" on the discription.

I have bought tons of stuff from newegg and had nothing but positive results. Their ptices are not always the lowest, but they always get it to me fast. The stuff is brand new and not refurb stuf. They hav a special section they sell refurb stuff and it is clearly labled on the site as being a refurb. You can laso return anything you buy from them.
