whadup? here's the deal... i have a philips widescreen hdtv with a "component in" on the back, but i have no "component out" from my receiver. i've searched all over for a cable or an adapter that will fix the problem, but i can't find anything under a combined total of like $200. what is the best and/or cheapest way to get from coax or composite (doesn't matter which) to component? take this. :rmoon2:

For some reason you double posted. There is no reason to convert this signal. Why not simply connect the composite out of your receiver to the composite in of the TV?
If you're trying to send HD signals, this will not work of course - see the FAQ on Cables and Connections.
Are you talking about an A/V receiver or a set-top-box receiver?

Caspian,
Welcome to the Forum.
As you have figured out there is no need to post the same question 3 times. Now for answers:
If you are using a standard cable box and you want to convert composite signals- thats the yellow one, you will need an AV reciever that converts. The Yamaha RX-V750 or 5790 will do the job.
The real question is why would you want to? It is best to get a HD tuner and run directly from it to your TV.
Where in GA are you?
