My TV has a HD tuner built in, I am using a Winegard ss-1000 antenna to get local HD broadcasts. My signal strength for CBS is 92%. Jay Leno and CSI come in at 16:9(widescreen) 1080i format perfectly. When I push the guide button on my remote it tells me what the program is being broadcast in. All the other programs are displayed in 4:3 mode even though it says they are being broadcast in 16:9 1080i. ABC and NBC signals strength is between 70 - 85% and I have yet to see anything in 16:9 on those channels. Also, when watching shows that display in 4:3 the PQ is NOT HD even tough they are being broadcast in HD. Does anyone know why this is happening?

Generally, all digital OTA channels are broadcasted in 1080i with the exception of ABC and FOX (720p).

Only HD programming is presented in 16:9/widescreen. Non-HD (SD) is upconverted and presented in 4:3, BUT, the black bars are actually part of the broadcast, thus making the TV 'detect' 16:9.

Check www.titantv.com to see what programs are broadcasted in HD for your area. (They will be denoted by HD next to the program title)
