I’m curious to find out what your opinions are on DVD-audio vs SACD debate. The reason being is that I’m thinking of upgrading my DVI dvd to one that plays one of these formats. I’m leaning towards DVD-audio because it seems like they have the classic albums that I’m interested in such as Fleetwood Mac, Chicago, Steely Dan and so forth in multichannel format, but I’m also leaning towards the new Sony HDMI player that came on the market which is only SACD compatible since Sony champions this format. I’ve also notice that a lot of the releases the would be of interest to me come in what Sony refers to as “Hybrid stereo”. I’m guessing this is not mutichannel or 5.1 audio. Am I correct?

Hybrid stereo refers to stereo-only SACDs which have both a stereo SACD (DSD) track and a stereo CD (Redbook) track for back compatibility with regular CD players. No MCH.
