JVC 48WP30 power button stays on blinking very fast

When I plug my JVC AV48WP30 the power on light comes on automatically and then it starts to blink very fast, there is no picture nor sound at all the tv is dead with the exception of the blinking power light, it does not respond to anything on the remote control the only way to turn it off is by pulling the plug. I bought a service manual from http://www.servicemanuals.net and in the troubleshooting section it tells me that this is the result of a failure of the self check and it gives me three possibilities, xray protection,B1 overcurrent protection and low B short protection and that's it , it does not tell me anything else, it does not follow through and it does not mention anything about it at all in the manual. Any ideas or sugestions?

So, you just plug in the TV and the ON indicater light comes on? And you don't push the ON button on the remote or the front of the TV?

I also, just got a service manuel from servicemanuels.net and I thought I read that you can do a self check by pushing and holding the Vol. down button on the front of the TV while you turn the TV on with the button on the front of the TV. Make sure you have a signal going to the TV before you try this, such as a DirecTV reciever or antenna.

You can clear the readings of the self check by turning off the TV with the remote. If you unplug the TV it will save the readings.

If you were to see this description in the "Users Manual", the statement would probably be followed up by, "Call for Service".

Did you find out what was wrong with it? Mine has a similar problem except that the power light doesn't blink, it stays solid. And there is a clicking sound that is coming from one of the components on one of the bottom panels inside the TV. :headscrat :headscrat

I'm having the same problem. It just started today. ARGHH!!!! :(
