RCA's New HDTV Receiver DCT 200

RCA is supposed to have released it's new DTC 200 HDTV Sat. receiver by now....anyone know who's selling it? Anyone own it?

Ok, I'll reply to my original post about the expected new RCA HDTV receiver, the DTC 200. Apparently RCA has renamed it model ATSC10. The release date is ambiguous. Good asking price, $549 and it will include DVI (for whatever that's worth).

They did show a mockup at CEDIA. When I asked them when it would be released they said that they did not know.

:cool: i am an rca csr and there is a dtc200 coming out and also the atsc10 coming out as well. these are 2 different products. don't have a whole lot more info on either one other than what i have read in the press releases. you can find those on the thomsonmultimedia.com site. hope this helps

OK Here's the deal.....
I've sent RCA a couple of email to no avail :rolleyes: so I sent one directly to Thomson mgfr for RCA's STB........

So we wait and see what happens around June 2003, at least Thomson is talking...

The DTC-100 has been a workhorse for many years in many homes. How can you make a statement like that? The DTC-100 may not have a lot of bells and whistles, but it is a reliable box (with proper care and feeding).

My main gripe with it was in incompatibility with many HDTV sets! It had that RGB output that you needed to convert to Component output. Plus the reception vs the first gen sony was not all that great.

We will not be producing the DTC200, but we are working on a replacement model that will have improved connectivity over the planned interfaces on the announced-but-not-shipped DTC200.

So, the answer is "Yes" we will have a DIRECTV high-def set-top box. But delivery dates have not yet been established.

We do not manufacture for other brands, currently.

There wa no mention made in regards to the slated DTC200 DirecTv HD STB. Being a satisfied current owner of the previous model (DTC100), my questions are:
1.) Will Thomsom continue with the production of a new DirecTv HD STB?

2.) Or should comsumers now turn to other Manufactures for future HD DirecTv STB's?

3.) Or will you manufacture DirecTV HD STB for brand names other than RCA?
