i use a Dennon DVD-900 and Dennon AV surround receiver AVR-683. they are a few years old but is progressive scan and has component and optical jacks. does any one else use these model components? do they produce quality sound and picture when connected to a widescreen HDTV? Any issues i should look for when i get the new TV? any connection suggestions? :rockon:

I'm not familiar with your models - but Denon makes quality components. I have a Denon 1910 DVD player and am saving for a new receiver from them (2805).

Thanks for the reply .. they do make quality components ,that was my main reason for purchasing it a few years ago. My primary concern was whether or not this particular model suffers from halo or other effects when connected to HD wide screen. I know now that there was a firmware upgrade for this model and am attempting to get it from Dennon but as the 900 has been discontinued it may be fruitless.
