View Full Version : Cable IN/Converter OUT

I have a Sony KF-50WE620 and when I run the coax cable to the TV's "VHF/UHF IN" jack and then run a coax from the "Converter Out" to the cable box I get a good picture on the analogue channels, but when I switch to the cable box I get a horrible picture.

If I split the cable and run one to the VHF/UHF IN and the other to the Cable Box it works fine, although the picture is a little better on the analogue channels.

Should I not be able to loose this external splitter? The manual says to hook it up the first way.

Thanks again for the help.

The second way you did it is fine...

I'm surprised that manuals still have that diagram. Most TVs don't pass the signal "two way" as is required for digital cable, therefore this hookup with digital cable is usually a non-starter.

It worked on "analogue converters" but who with an HDTV would have an analogue converter.

OK...guess I'll leave it as is. Thanks for the info.
