Just wanted to let you guys know, as many of you are awaiting someone to get one. Got it in the mail yesterday. A more detailed review will probably come after the weekend when I've had more time to watch my favorite movies. The only comparison I have is to my Xbox with 480p output through monster component cables. The picture seems a bit dark, hard to watch night scenes. Supposedly there is a black correction, built into the hardware, but I didn't notice any difference when I turned it on or off. So far, 480p looks pretty blurry. 720p and 1080i definitely look better, but I'd be hard pressed to notice a difference between the xbox and this player. Maybe slight increase in sharpness, but that's offset by the extremely dark levels.
For those with questions about the cables, it does come with a HDMI to DVI plus a HDMI cable. So far I'm happy with my purchase as I sold my xbox recently.
